സൂയി ജൂറിസ് ചര്‍ച്ചിന്റെ പേരില്‍ നടത്തുന്ന അറിവില്ലായ്മ

പലരും കുറെ നാളായിപലപ്പോഴും പറയുന്ന കാര്യമാണ് ക്നാനായക്കാര്‍ക്ക് സൂയി ജൂരിസ് ചര്ച്ച് വേണം എന്നുള്ളത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഒരു വിദ്വാന്‍ അമേരിക്കന്‍ ക്നാ വഴി വിളമ്പിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവാദങ്ങള്‍ താഴെ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു ഞരമ്പ് സൂയി ജൂര്സ്നു വേണ്ടി നടത്തുന്ന വാഗ്വാദങ്ങളും കുറേപേര്‍ എങ്കിലും കണ്ടു കാണും. അങ്ങിനെയെങ്കില്‍ നമ്മുടെജോസ് കുട്ടന്റെ ഈമെയില്‍ മറുപടി അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് ഈയുള്ളവന്‍ കരുതുന്നു. വായിക്കുക ഈമെയില്‍.

The recent report saying that Archbishop Moolakat has agreed in writing that he will work hard for “the extension of Knanaya jurisdiction to North America as practiced in kottayam”, is a positive first step.  I hope that his goal is to get a sui juris status for Knanaya Church with global jurisdiction and nothing less.  Who will benefit from this? Both the laity and the Knanaya Catholic Church hierarchy will benefit. No doubt! The laity’s benefit is that, for a community that is growing and spreading all over the world, their ethnic church will have global jurisdiction with one set of rules (rules the community practiced for thousands of years), under one leadership. Compared to the benefit to the laity, the church hierarchy’s benefits are exponentially huge.  Sui juris Knanaya Church, with about 160,000 people, will provide tremendous career advancement opportunity to our priests when you consider that other sui juris Churches of our size have many more Bishops, Assistant Bishops, VGs, Chancellors, and so on.

മുകളില്‍ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മൂന്നു സഭകള്‍ക്കും നമ്മുടെ ക്നാനായ സമൂഹവുമായുള്ള സാമ്യം അംഗബലം മാത്രമാണ്. മൂന്നും

 സഭാപരമായ ഒരു സംവിധാനം എന്ന നിലക്ക് സൂയി ജൂറിസ് സ്റ്റാറ്റസിന് വേണ്ടത് സോഷ്യല്‍ പാരമ്പര്യം അല്ല. മറിച്ച് ആരാധാനക്രമം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള പാരമ്പര്യം ആണ്. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ആരാധാനക്രമവും സീറോ മലങ്കര ആരാധനാക്രമവും തമ്മില്‍ പ്രകടമായ വിത്യാസം പാരമ്പര്യമായി തന്നെ ഉണ്ട്. അങ്ങിനെ നോക്കുമ്പോള്‍ സീറോ മലബാര്‍ ആരാധനാക്രമവും ക്നാനായ കത്തോലിക്കാ ആരാധനാ ക്രമവും തമ്മില്‍ എന്താണ് വിത്യാസം. പിന്നെ എന്‍ഡോഗാമി എന്നുള്ള കാര്യം. അത് സഭയുടെ നിയമമല്ല മറിച്ച് സാമൂഹികമായ പാരമ്പര്യവും പിന്തുടര്‍ച്ചയും മാത്രമാണ്. കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭ അതിനെ സഭാപരമായ ഒരു പാരമ്പര്യമായി അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് നമ്മള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ഇതുവരെയും ഒരിടത്തും അങ്ങിനെ ഒരു സംഭവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ മരിച്ചു അത് സഭാപരമായ ഒരു പാരമ്പര്യമല്ല എന്ന് രീസ്ക്രിപ്റ്റ് വഴി പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് താനും.

Knanaya Catholic church hierarchy stands to gain monumental career advancement if we get sui juris status because it is evident that Archbishop Moolakat will be then elevated to a Patriarch or a Major Archbishop and there will be several more bishops and even a few Archbishops under him.  Considering this, I am at a loss to understand why the current Knanaya church hierarchy is NOT upfront leading the fight to get sui juris Church status! Do they fully comprehend why a sui juris Knanaya Church will benefit them much more than the laity? I am not so sure. Archbishop Kunnasseri understood the potential of sui juris Knanaya Church very well and he was pursuing sui juris status before his retirement. For a theological symposium on ecumenism, held at Vadavathoor on January 28, 2002, arguing for sui juris Knanaya Church he wrote, “Rite is not a constitutive element of sui juris Church.  The faithful of one and the same rite may be formed into different sui juris Churches or conversely faithful observing two different rites may form one sui juris Church.” He further wrote, “In the matter of ecclesial structures the Holy Mother Church is very liberal, generous, and benevolent ready to make accommodation for legitimate particularities of any ecclesial community. She is willing to strengthen the identity of such communities with rightful autonomy in the hierarchical communion recognizing them as sui juris Churches”. 
The current church leadership needs to get back on track and start the fight for suis juris Knanaya Church where Archbishop Kunnasseri left off!

ഇനി മറ്റൊരു ചോദ്യം. ഇന്ന് സീറോ മലബാര്‍ സഭയിലെ ഒരു രൂപതയായ കോട്ടയത്ത് നിന്നും മറ്റു രൂപതകളിലേക്ക് മാറികെട്ടുമ്പോള്‍ മാറ്റി വിടുന്നത് പോലെ സൂയി ജൂറിസ് ചര്ച്ച്ചായാല്‍ സാധിക്കും എന്ന് കരുതുന്നുണ്ടോ? രൂപത്ത മാറുന്നത് പോലെ എളുപ്പമല്ല റീത്ത് മാറുന്നത്. വര്‍ഷങ്ങളും മാസങ്ങളും എടുക്കുന്ന പ്രോസസ് ആണ് അത്. കത്തോലിക്കാ സഭയിലെ ഏതോരു വ്യക്തിക്കും അവരവരുടെ രീത്തില്‍ മരണം വരെ നിലനില്‍ക്കാന്‍ അനുവാദം കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനെ റിവോക്ക് ചെയ്യണം എങ്കില്‍ ഒരു സൂനഹദോസ് തന്നെ വില്‍ക്കേണ്ടി വരും. അങ്ങിനെയെങ്കില്‍ മാറികെട്ടിയവന് തീര്‍ച്ചയായും പുതിയ റീത്തില്‍ ജനിച്ചു എങ്കില്‍ അങ്ങിനെ തന്നെ നില നില്‍ക്കാനും സാധിക്കും. ഒരു രീത്തിനുള്ളിലെ രൂപതകള്‍ തമ്മില്‍ മാറുന്നത് പോലെ രീത്തുകള്‍ മാറി നടക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല. ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ മാറികെട്ടുന്നവനെ കേട്ട് കേട്ടിക്കുണ്ണ്‍ പരിപാടി അവിടെ തീരും.
അങ്ങിനെയെങ്കില്‍ സൂയി ജൂരിസ് നേടിയാലും എന്‍ഡോഗാമി നഷ്ടപെട്ടാന്‍ നമുക്ക് എന്ത് പ്രയോജനം? ചിന്തിക്കുക മോനെ ജോസുകുട്ടാ.

  1. The right policy for Knanaya is not sui juris, but a policy that includes all our children here in America, Kottayam and all over the world. I do not understand why Kna parents insist to exclude their own children from their church and community. This is not a normal behavior. Who is responsible for this mentally distorted behavior. Our bishops and priests, the spiritual leaders. What kind of spirit is this?

  2. Yes, there is something wrong about excluding our children from our own churches. But i think you have rightly identified the culprits in the above comments who have established a closed kingdom for themselves in India at Kottayam.
    Now, the same priests are playing poltics to establish a similar set up in america where their careers are permanently secure in north america. They have used the membership issue to their advantage and don't care about the knanaya parishioners. By having the 'knanaya' board on the church, they have made sure throguh the agreement with Bishop Angadiath that 'only' knanaya priests sent from kottayam diocese will be the priests in the knanaya churches of america. This was the only guarenteed endogamous member in any knanaya church is the priests who come from Kottayam with all obediance to the Kottayam and Chicago Bishop.

  4. An Appeal to National Council Members and the Community

    Yet another National Council meeting is taking place this Saturday and the entire North American community is going to elect their new KCCNA National Council members in the next two months. It’s an apt time to vigilantly implement some guidelines at this time based on the fiasco the community is facing. We need to set aside the differences and try to bring KCCNA to its GOOD OLD DAYS! There is nothing wrong in learning from one’s mistakes and correcting it. Here are my two cents worth suggestions:

    1. Problem: Poor administration of KCCNA due to inexperience of office bearers.
    Reason: Office bearers were often elected based on their EXTREMIST thoughts and or by the VESTED interest of some unit or individual rather than their ability. We have experienced that most of the problem we face are because of the inexperience of some of the office bearers.
    Solution: Amend the constitution of KCCNA, so that ONLY candidates with experience in RUNNING a LOCAL association unit, either as President, Secretary or Treasurer shall become the President, Executive Vice President, Secretary and /or Treasurer of KCCNA.
    Justification: IKCC of NY had similar problem and we amended our constitution to have the President and Secretary to have served in the committee in the past. From my experience in several times at the National Council and local unit, I can guarantee that running a local unit is much harder and gives you much experience needed to run KCCNA than the experience as a national council member.

    2. Problem: Convention irregularities and financial transparency.
    Reason: Our convention budget is over $1 million. Often transparency is missing and we need to do much better job as a non-profit organization for IRS purposes. Sometimes sincere volunteers are blamed for their hard work too.
    Solution: Set up an INDEPENDENT committee of experienced people (preferably REPUTED people from the community who are INDEPENDENT from the hosting unit executive and KCCNA national council) to independently approve the vendors BEFORE they are selected. Implement a bidding process of at least three vendors. Implement a deadline to select the vendors well in advance. Audit the convention financials and procedure immediately after rather than at year end. Let the sub-committees provide the quotes to the selection committee and run the actual function only.
    Justification: We always go ‘after the fact’ and it will not bring us solution but only point fingers to others. Sincere people will not have to get the blame.

  5. WILL TIME HEAL EVERYTHING...............MEMORIES OF CHICAGO CONVENTION 2014

    Chicago convention was conducted where obamas inaugural function took place. the only thing people remember is the worst food experience and mismanagements. even if any of the registrants go for another convention they will not purchase food coupons for sure. thanks to the chicago convention.to avoid future abuse of power can be done only when culprits are brought to sunlight out of the shadow.i dare the kcs or kcccna would have the courage to do that otherwise this is a dramatic play by comrades to fool the public .whatever damage caused can only be covered by dealing this .people are NOT STUPID. we are ASHAMED our forefathers and our homeland when using food and shelter to MAKE MONEY and PROFIT. indian culture goes back to our hospitality and welcoming of guests even when you don't even have.

    IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, THE JUDGEMENT IS ALREADY IN THE PEOPLES MIND.

      The convention finished around 3 months before and now also you people are talking about food and cheap politics. In the convention there where lots of major things happened. After that KCCNA announced a hunger strike and no one supported for it and the executive itself couldn't stand for the issue. Are you people are still hungry?
      Please don't put you down by yourself. Even though you people have enough food you people cant stand of good cause or for community.

      The KCCNA convention itself to show how much wealthy you people are how many dress you have and talents you have. Its not really for the community or for our unity. Feels shame on you people who write about the food and don't even have words to say to save our community. I am not saying that you can't criticize but at the same time show the spirit of Knanaya then feel proud you all.

      Hope as my fellows you people understand the feeling.

    2. As a Chicagoan and a grand sponsor of convention I have an idea what happened in food court. First, our local president and Kccna president were not agreed upon certain things. 2ndly,in chicago believe it or not had a strong opposition party who at the beginning refuse to register,then try at their level to destroy this convention. 3rdly,our kccna president accept advise from this opposition parties whose aim was to win some political gain.In conclusion,in my view,we can,t blame a single party for the failure but chicago remain the worst convention memories for ever.

      Convention is over but we all know there were 'some adjustments' That is called cheating who did it in the Name of the father, the Son and the Holy spirit.. It is a real fact , SOME PEOPLE IN Chicago made some money out of it. There is nothing wrong in questing it and in trying to find out further. We should get the answer from Chicago. Living in NY, I do have confidence in having a better food arrangement in Chicago, or anywhere else in this country, for this kind of family gathering . We should not repeat this non-sense and should closely watch it during the next convention, my brother. We all should be Christian and should be honest when you talk about , and work for the community. Please practice how to love one another, not to cheat and screw one another.

    1. President provided enough Hennessy to all the KCCNA Members and they all accepted the financial report presented by Kizhakkel Unni. As per the NC meeting Money management was perfect, no mismanagement, and after all this was the best convention KCCNA ever had. Kudos to all the NC members. As the executives money spend for lawyers is KCCNA money to protect the mafia leaders or as per the orders of mafia leaders so ordinary knanay does not have any right to ask about that money, they have the right to pay but no right to talk.

    2. Who cares when a bunch of grown up losers argue like school children? They are only fighting to decide who is the bigger looser. The bottom line is that they could not properly take care off the largest gathering of knanaites ever assembled outside Kerala. They have not given a honest reply to the community either, all we are hearing is blame game. Now who really cares about the NC members and corrupt people?
