- താമസ സൗകര്യം ആയിരുന്നു അന്നത്തെ പ്രാധാന വിഷയം. ഷാജി പറഞ്ഞു റോസ് മൌണ്ടില്‍ സെന്ടരിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് നിരവധി ഹോട്ടലുകള്‍ ഉണ്ട് എന്ന്. എല്ലാ ഹോട്ടലുകളും സെന്ററുമായി നാല് വശത്ത് നിന്നും കണക്ട് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നും. ഷാജിക്കെതിരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു നടത്തിയ കലാപത്തിന്റെ സമയത്ത് ഇത്തവണത്തെ മക്കൊര്മിക്കിലെ ഹോട്ടലില്‍ വെറും നാനൂറു മുറികള്‍ മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ എന്നുള്ള കാര്യം കൂടി ഓര്‍ത്തു നോക്കിക്കേ. എന്നിട്ട് പറയുക. ഒരു ഹോട്ടലില്‍ മണിക്കൂറുകളോളം ലിഫ്റ്റ്‌ വരുന്നതും കാത്തു ആറായിരത്തോളം പേര് കാത്തു നില്‍ക്കുന്നതാണോ അതോ ഇത്രയും ആളുകള്‍ കണ്വെന്ഷന് സെന്ററിനു നാലുവശത്തുമുള്ള നാലോ അഞ്ചോ ഹോട്ടലുകളില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നോ സൗകര്യം?
- ലോകോത്തര കണ്വെന്ഷന് സെന്റര്‍ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞവര്‍ ഒരു കാര്യം മറന്നു പോയിരുന്നുന്‍ നമ്മളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു അത് വലിപ്പം വളരെ കൂടുതലാണ്. നടന്നു നടന്നു എല്ല് തേഞ്ഞുപോയവര്‍ ഈ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം ഇത്തവണ യാതൊരു പിശുക്കും കൂടാതെ സമ്മതിക്കും.
- കനത്ത സാമ്പത്തിക ഭാരം ആയിരുന്നു ഷാജി ചൂണ്ടി കാട്ടിയ മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം. ഇത്തവണ അത് നമ്മള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയില്ലേ? അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഏതൊരു കണ്വെന്ഷന് സെന്ററിലും ഇല്ലാത്ത വിധത്തിലുള്ള യൂണിയന്‍ ഫീസുകളും അധിക ചിലവുകളും കാരണംആയിരത്തിഇരുനൂറു രാജിഷ്ട്രേശന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് പോലും നഷ്ടകണക്കിന്റെ വിവരം മാത്രമേ കേള്‍ക്കുവാനുള്ളൂ. വടം വലിക്കുവനായി പത്ത് മിനിറ്റ് ഹാളിനു പുറത്തുള്ള ലോഡിംഗ് ഏരിയാ ഉപയോഗിച്ചതിന് കൊടുത്ത വാടക ആറായിരം ഡോളര്‍ എന്നാണു പറഞ്ഞുകേള്‍ക്കുന്നത്. ശരിക്കും ആറായിരം കൊടുത്തോ അതോ അത് ആ വടം വലിയുടെ പേരില്‍ അപ്പാടെ വിഴുങ്ങിയോ എന്ന് ആര്‍ക്കറിയാം?
