The benefit that I had with this convention is I was supposed take a colones copy this week. After having the delicious food from the food court and the famous banquet my system was very clear and don't need to do the test any more.

2. Able to avoid the DKCC president without giving 2 minute speech at closing ceremony
3. Knanaya catholic congress president walk out at closing ceremony as he was denied for 2 minute speech at closing ceremony, but his team members were given time to speech.
4. A Member form Houston community who cause to make lose of $35000 to the church was honored as a hero of the year.
5. It was nice to see to give certificate of merit each other by the executives themselves.
6.Convention sponsored 25 young beautiful ladies form india for Milan fashion show was wonderful an fantastic.
zero incident of arrest or police intervention occurred during the convention.

ReplyDeleteWhat we continue to see in the attitude of KCCNA officers is that they consistently either violate the decisions of the supreme body of KCCNA, refuse to call Executive committee/Convention committee or ignore numerous requests by NC members to KCCNA officers for corrective actions(remember the infamous minutes prepared by secretary and he ignored the requests to correct it). This arrogant attitude appeared again in an email by KCCNA President openly criticizing hosting unit, " As an organization historically we all had complete trust in the hosting unit and convention committee when a convention is being offered to them; may need revision at this time,though it never happen before". How an elected president of a democratic organization can make such gross lies and falsification of records when and he and his company argued for the power to be vested in Steering committee not in convention committee during the Dallas national council meeting? NC members who attended Dallas NC meeting know that hosting unit was taken out of the picture when NC put the power/decision making authority related to convention in the KCCNA EC. Gradually, KCCNA officers convened only Steering committee and they, in the name of trying to make better deals in every contract, interfered in the activities of each and every sub-committee delaying signing almost all the contracts and declining to sign contract for the all important food court and accomplished nothing in the end other than squandering money given by registrants in some areas, creating panic in Chicago in the days before convention and harassing ordinary sub-committee members to a point where they felt disillusioned in future community activities.
Since KCCNA officers, as usual, showed no intention of calling any of the committees in the wake of allegation made by KCCNA President, Convention committee under Chairman had a meeting on 7/15/14 and following decisions were taken;
Convention committee members expressed extreme disappointment for none of KCCNA officers are continuously showing up in the important convention committee meeting or calling executive committee
Money collected in the name of food coupons should be given to the food vendor ASAP(KCCNA officers have already made a stop payment on a check given to one of the food vendors)
An audit of the KCCNA financial account by an external firm including the out -of -country financial dealings of the officers should be done ASAP
Next national council meeting should be convened ASAP and such an audited account should be presented during the meeting
KCS would like to investigate into dealings carried out by KCCNA President and secretary while staying at McCormck for a week without inviting Chairman or hosting unit executives one month prior to convention.
The choice is in the hands of the NC members whether we should allow the KCCNA officers continue to make a mockery of great organization like KCCNA and trample upon the rights of its constituent units or we jointly take some actions to rein in the carefree attitude of these officers.

DeleteWhen talking about the failure in the food area, we should remember that we all paid extra money on top of the registration fee for the food. Not only that the convention failed to deliver quality food worth the money we paid, many people including myself got sick. I am not here to blame anyone in particular since I am not aware of the true facts which caused this but cannot ignore the fact that this was a major failure.
