കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം പര്യവസാനിച്ച്ച്ച വിശ്വ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ചിക്കാഗോ ക്നാനായ ഒളിമ്പിക്സിലേക്ക് ഒരു എത്തി നോട്ടം നടത്താം ഇന്ന്.
അച്ചന്മാര്‍ ആരെയും ക്ഷണിക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാല്‍ മാര്‍ച്ച് പാസ്റ്റില്‍ സല്യൂട്ട് മുഴുവനായും ജോര്ജ്ജുകുട്ടിക്കു വിഴുങ്ങാന്‍ അവസരം കിട്ടി. ആ മുഖത്തെ പ്രസാദം ഒന്ന് കാണേണ്ടത് തന്നെയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് കണ്ടവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. അത് കാണുവാനായി വിരലില്‍ എണ്ണാവുന്ന ക്നാനായ മക്കളെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നത് ഒരു ന്യൂനതയായി കണക്കാക്കാന്‍ പറ്റില്ല. ഫോറോനാകളുടെ ബോര്‍ഡു എടുക്കാന്‍ അലിലാതെ ഒരേ ടീം തന്നെ രണ്ടു ഫോര്നോനാകളുടെ വീതം ബോര്‍ഡു പിടിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന അവിസ്മരണീയമായ കാഴ്ച നയന മനോഹരം ആയിരുന്നു എന്ന് പറയുവാന്‍ വയ്യ.
ബോര്‍ഡില്‍ തീരുമാനമെടുത്തു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കെണ്ടാവര്‍ കാശ്കൊടുത്തു കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്ന്. സമയമായപ്പോള്‍ മൂഞ്ചികള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥിരം സ്വഭാവം കാണിച്ചു. ബോര്‍ഡ് അങ്ങിനെ പലതും തീരുമാനിക്കും , അത് അവരുടെ വീട്ടില്‍ പോയി നടപ്പിലാക്കട്ടെ, ഇവിടെ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നത് ഞാന്‍ തന്നെ എന്ന് മുതിര്‍ന്ന മാഫിയാ തലവന്‍ തന്നെ പറയുന്നത് കേട്ടതേ മൂഞ്ചികള്‍ പതിവ് പോലെ തന്നെ പള്ളിയില്‍ നിരങ്ങി നടന്നു മൂഞ്ചുന്നത് പോലെ തന്നെ മൂഞ്ചി. പ്രാഞ്ചികള്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ഭാരവാഹികളുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം ഉണര്‍ന്നു. പിരിക്കുവാന്‍ ചെന്നതെ , കാശ് കൊടുത്തവരുടെ ലിസ്റ്റ് ആവശ്യപെട്ടപ്പോള്‍ പിന്നെ ജോര്‍ജ്ജു കുട്ടി & ടീം മുങ്ങുന്നത് കാണുവാനും നയന മനോഹരമായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങിനെ മൂഞ്ചികള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി ബോര്‍ഡിന്റെ തീരുമാനം അട്ടിമറിച്ച ജോര്‍ജ്ജു കുട്ടിക്ക് അഭിവാദനങ്ങള്‍.
ഇനി പ്രധാനപെട്ട മറ്റൊരു സംഭവം ഓണ തല്ലായിരുന്നു . ഓണാഘോഷങ്ങള്‍ നടത്തുവാന്‍ വേണ്ടി ഒരു നായരെ ഒപ്പിച്ചുവരുന്നത്കാത്തുനില്‍ക്കാതെ ചിക്കാഗോയിലെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു കന്നുകാലി (ഹൂസ്റ്റണിലെ കണ്ണ് കാളിയുടെ അതെ ഗുണം ) തനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന വ്യക്തി വൈരാഗ്യം വടം വലിയുടെ സമയത്ത് തീര്‍ക്കുവാന്‍ ഒരു ശ്രമം നടത്തി. വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി താന്‍ മൂഞ്ചിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് പാലം കടത്തിയ ഒരു പ്രാഞ്ചിയോടു വൈരാഗ്യം തോന്നുവാന്‍ , അയ്യാള്‍ തന്റെ മൂഞ്ചീരു പരിപാടി നിര്‍ത്തിച്ചു എന്നൊരു കാരണം മതിയാകുമല്ലോ. ലീസിനു കൊടുത്ത കട തിരിച്ചു മേടിച്ചു എന്നൊരു കാരണംകൊണ്ട് അവസരം കിട്ടിയപ്പോള്‍ പ്രാഞ്ചിയുടെ കോളറിനു പിടിച്ചു ആളാകാന്‍ നോക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ അയാള്‍ മറന്നു പോയത് വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി അതെ പ്രാഞ്ചിയുടെ പണം അപഹരിച്ചു തന്നെയാണ് അയാള്‍ ആളായത് എന്നുള്ള സത്യമാണ്. ഇതേ കന്നുകാലി ഇത്തവണത്തെ തിരുനാളിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ ദര്‍ശന സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ആറാട്ട് താന്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ പോളിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളും എന്ന് കരുതി മിടുക്കനായി മാറിനിന്നവനാണ്. കമ്മലിട്ടവന്‍ പോയാല്‍ കുണുക്ക് ഇട്ടവന്‍ വരും എന്ന് പാവം ഓര്‍ത്തില്ല. പരിശുദ്ധ അമ്മയുടെ ദര്‍ശനസമൂഹത്ത്തിന്റെ പേരില്‍ മുതെലെടുപ്പ് നടത്തുവാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച ഈ കന്നുകാലിയുടെ സ്വഭാവം ഇനി കൂടുതല്‍ വര്ന്നിക്കനമോ എന്നറിയില്ല.
അങ്ങിനെ ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ ഒരു ഊന തല്ലോടെ വടം വലി പോലും മുഴുവിക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കാതെ നമ്മുടെ ഒളിപിക്സ് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു. ഇനി ഓണാഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി വടം വലിയുടെ ഫൈനല്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുമോഎന്തോ !!! വടം വലിയില്‍ പേര് കേട്ടനായര് ഓണാഘോഷത്തിനു ഇനി എന്ത് പുലിവാലാണോ പിടിക്കുവാന്‍ പോകുന്നത്.

As you said,if his kids are good,you MUST know that Mr and Mrs. Kannala, the parents, formed them to be good. The children were performing the prasdudenthi Vazhcha last year because Mr.Kannala was leading/guiding the rituals of last year. Since Mr. Kannala did not participate in the rituals this year, the children also did not participate in it and it may be their decision. How do you know children were stopped from performing the the prasudenthi vazhcha? Do not make comment if you do not know about them. If you want, he will teach teach you how to parent the children...learn from him. If he had crookedness, he would have become a "prachi" a long time ago.

ReplyDeleteIt is not correct to say that if the 1986 rescript is implemented in USA, it won't affect the Kottayam diocese.
If will definitely affect 'knanaya' as a whole. The damage cannot be contained within USA. For eg., when a 'kalyana-kuri' from a U.S. 'KANA parish' is issued to the vicar of a 'knanaya parish' in Kottayam Diocese for the marriage of a KANA's daughter (who is a non-knanite) to a kna boy of Kottayam, the Kottayam vicar will have to honour that 'kuri' and their marriage will have to be blessed at the parish of Kottayam diocese. If not, they can easily get a favourable order from the court of law. Thus, the non-kna girl will become part of the knanaya parish.
If endogamy is strictly observed in US knanaya parishes as in India, how the parishes will become mixed ones?!
Whatever higher be the number of exogamous marriages, because they will cease to be part of the parish or of the Community, it will never become mixed as claimed by the author. The mixed parishes can never be called 'knanaya'. It is better for knanaya to have its natural death rather than be mixed!
The usage 'knanaya mission' is meaningless if it is meant for KANAs and for non-knas too.
Knanya, as a community, has the main mission to maintain the endogamous tradition. “Mission' is an integral part of the Church. It is a Catholic mission and not knanya mission. So the usage has to be changed. It could be the Catholic mission of the knanites. If the adjuctive 'knanaya' is removed from the name this problem can esily be solved.

Everybody accepts the Church. What is not accepted is the KANA membership in a kna parish. Coming to the Church is something different. As a faithful, it is everybody's right. All are welcomed even by the knanya parishes, only the KANA membership is not acceptable.
Isolating people is what gives you satisfaction and estacy. If your wife want to show her sarees to malayalis come and show it to the less fortunate KANAs too. Otherwise go and show it to the Whites in latin church on a Sunday.
DeleteI don't wish to isolate the faithful. So, I prefer regular SM parishes where every faithful can be members and part of it and not knanaya parishes where the membership has to be limited only to the knas as per knanaya rules.

Dress was a luxury for them before, now they have it and they want to show off. Surprisingly you started obeying like a dog the call for 'Don't go to church, don't pay a penny to church and send kids to CCE with no payment'. Man you are on the verge of losing everything including your wife and children. Children naturally go with mothers. Whoever marry her get the kids for free. For her it is only a matter of paying $100 to a discount vakkeel to get rid of you. She was thinking of this from the day she came to America. Be practical man, my fellow kna.

Tho nursing is a blessed job hving gr8 scope for service, my wife is not a nurse. I didn't come to the States not in her acct or me at her expense. V nevr hesitated to spent 4 charity or to donate 4 da Church! My wife and our children are my backbone and support to fight for our great tradition of endogamy. V wil stay togethr til da end of our lives. U r thouroughly mistaken.

I am only on the market for marrying. I am just observing what you uncles are doing in church. It is a lot of fun man. Your wife may be lacking a sense of beauty. Bring her to kna church. Let us see. She will change to saree in no time. Most of our aunties are nurses man you really missed a gr8 opportunity. Money is the basis for your marriage. So how do you gurantee that your children will marry only kna. If they see money, like a cow after thegrass they will go after it. Then we have to kick u out of your gr8 knanaya church. DeleteThere is no kna parish in the U.S., only KANA/ mixed parishes. My basis of marriage was mainly beauty and education of my wife. Money was not so important as I have a reputed, highly paid job and a good family background.
Though I would prefer my children marrying only knanites, I am not very particular about that, as marriage is the most personal matter of an individual. So, if they choose a non-knanite, they will have no problem in the family. They will be loved equally without any discrimination. But I will be the first man to object to their membership in a parish if it is a 'knanaya parish'.
I, without any hesitation, always appreciate any good woman irrespective of whether Kna, KANA or any other. Absolutely NO DISCRIMINATION!!!
Priests and our bishops need to stand for our rights. Think about all the options. Even if we started churches and if those churches are going to be a "PARA" leave the church. Give those churches to bishop Angadiath and go to the English churches. Nobody is thinking about the great tragedy we are going to face down the road.
