When are we going to learn from our mistakes?
The new National Council of KCCNA has not even assembled once and taken the oath. The new President and the team are not even elected. But Houstonians have already elected the 2016 convention Chairman!!! And the feud has already started in Houston about the convention. Why? Because of over smartness. Over smartness in electing a Chairman in advance before the KCCNA election so that one of the KCCNA President candidates doesn’t makes a claim for it if he loses the election this week!!! What an idea Sirji…. But that resulted in the chaos amongst the same group that supports the KCCNA and the local association!!!! When are we going to learn? Are we going to repeat Chicago 2011?
Even though local association can decide who the Chairman is, in order to avoid further deterioration to KCCNA and the convention, the National Council should instruct the local unit that the incoming Convention Chairman should have some extent of community service and served and led the association in a responsible position in the past. Please!!! Also National Council should get a confirmation from all the National Council members from the unit that they will work together. Do we need another convention like Chicago? It’s high time that we stop politicizing it by installing cronies to positions rather than finding able, mature personalities, which we have. We had enough with people who never became a class monitor leading us in some positions in KCCNA and conventions!!!
This also shows that we are concentrating on just convention rather than addressing our core issues and shifting our focus to new ventures. I humbly request the new KCCNA National Council members to make the prudent decision in assigning the convention where there shall be minimal politics and able bodies. I have utmost confidence in the new National Council members.
