As you know, KCS Chicago formulated an Action Council last year as per the instruction from KCCNA to make proposals to KCCNA for actions to be considered by KCCNA in order to gain our endogamous status in North America and to lead unit level actions to be chosen by KCCNA based upon the proposals given by all the 20 units. In last December, our parent association, KCCNA lifted the ban imposed upon all the unit level actions after the March rally and requested to reactivate the unit level action councils by conducting meetings in all 20 units to make some proposals to KCCNA from units in order to form a Three Phase Action Plan from KCCNA. As per the instruction of KCCNA, Chicago KCS gave notification to all Action Council members and an Action Council meeting was held in January this year for the first time after activities of Action Council was frozen since March rally. As per the request, all our members present at the action council meeting suggested many ideas for the three phase action plan. When KCS President,George Thottapuram, raised some concerns over this particular proposal in question, some action council members suggested that it is KCCNA which requested for proposals and that KCCNA will make the final decision on these proposals after disscussing in the apporpiate forum. All the ideas/proposals shared by the members were sent to KCCNA President and Secretary by email without any filtration to respect the personal suggestions of our action council members.

Along with this email, KCS clearly informed KCCNA that the ideas/proposals suggested by the members present at the Action Council meeting are not decisions/resolutions of KCS general body or it’s Executive Board or its Board of Directors. They are only a various suggestions from our members for the consideration of KCCNA. It should be noted that KCS Action Council is not a decision making body as per the KCS constiution( many members do not know this fact. it is the evil scheme of blog writers to mislead readers) It was the choice of KCCNA either to accept or ignore any of these 11 ideas of the members who wanted to communicate with KCCNA through KCS Action Council.

Our answer to your question is that, first of all, these are NOT recommendations from KCS. These are onlyproposals . Blog writers here again misled some readers. As you know, the meaning between these two words is quite significant. Our answer to your first question is that yes, KCS Action Council sent these proposals to KCCNA President and Secretary to discuss within the apporpiate forum. From there, we do not know the perplexing story behind the leaking out of this rough draft of proposals, as we are still unaware of the events that led to the similar fate of few other confidential documents given by KCS in the past, before it is ironed out after disscussion within the appropiate forum and is, then, given to public officially as the offical version of KCCNA.

Our answer to your second question is that KCS executive would like to officially inform you the proposal in question is not a stand or decision or resolution of KCS Chicago unit . It should be noted that KCS Executive board has not sent these proposal by email to our members. This shows very clearly that KCS knows these proposals are only tentative in nature and that Chicago KCS has not taken an official stand on any these proposals.

In addition to these facts, we would like to inform you that KCS made an unanimous decision in the last KCS Board of Directors' meeting to support and create a faviorable situation for all our Knanaya Bishops to attend the Convention in Chicago and ask KCCNA leadership to address all the concerns raised by Arch Bishop of Kottayam including the DKCC issue in the next national council meeting which will be held in Dallas next week.

It was when Muthu was the chief editor, that for the first time Apnades made profit. ever since his drasting changes, apnades never had to look back. Knanaya media also on the same situation now. He took over and knanaya media has made significan financial gain. Sr.Xavier is doing a good collection tactic and is very successfull. That is the ability of Muthu. He knows the right person to pick. Karakkadan also is doing an amazing job with excellent editing and content management. Is there another person in the community who can do what he is doing now? where is knanaya Times? frozen in the hell?

ReplyDeleteThere is a mistake in this posting. The so called proposals are from the action council meeting held in January (as per the e-mail). Not from the March meeting held at community center. You wrongly assuming that the March 2 meeting made these proposals and put the picture of that meeting. To my understanding blogger group members of that action council. I don't they participated or not. Regarding the meeting attendance: That shows the interest of the Chicago people in knanaya community matters.

ReplyDeleteDid you heard about the Thamarasserry Bishops "Naxal model" speech. Also about the Idukki bishops famous Kasthuri speeches. Both of them belong to the syro Malabar CATHOLIC church. I never heard any thing about Cardinal Alencherry taking actions against these Catholic bishops as Naxalism is not really not belongs to catholic or even Christian church. So if the so called catholic bishops can publically utter such words, what is wrong for a knanaya lay man to suggest a proposal in their private meeting about leaving the Syro or catholic church. I don't think that is mortal sin any way. Problem here is nobody care about achieving any thing for the Northamerican knanaya community. Instead creating arguments to discredit the others and fell in to deeper troubles. Mutholath Achan along with noncaring Moolakkatt should convey such sentiments of the ordinary lay man to the authorities if they wanted to achieve any independence for the community. Now Muthu wanted to create this as an issue and prevent the Bishops from attending the convention. Ellam oro Vesham kettalukal.
If Catholics do not allow the knanites to grow in their endogamous tradition out side Kerala, then we have only 2 option, either leave the catholic and be the part of knanaya jacobites where we can mingle with original knanites or mix with syro-malabarians and forget the word "knanaya".

ReplyDeleteOk Let me give a little bit about me before commenting. Because I don't want anybody to brand me to either side. I came to USA at the age of 20 and been living here for he past 15 years. I have seen the politics from both side and don't belong to any side.But if you think on the comments from KCS, its actually happening. Most of the family of my generation and almost 95% of second generation don't believe that Kottayam diocese or our Bishop is doing anything to serve our needs. We mentally disowned Kottayam diocese. We don't get the feeling that we belong there. Why? not because we are part of the KCCNA. We don't agree with all their deeds as well. But we all believe in Knanaya thanima and bonding. Mr. Moolakkattu pointed out earlier, the Bishop and co is there to fulfill your religious needs. You Thanima could be enforced only by the society. But are the Bishop and Co at least doing their part? If you go to a knanaya church, Priests are using the stage to fight against the society. you can hardly hear the Priest referring anything about Bible during his speech. Is that how they full fill your religious needs? I strongly feels that My familys ( especially my kids) are safe by going to English church not because we love english church but because we don't get it in our Knanaya church. church has adopted a policy that we dont care about you when we have other 99. This would work as long as we have a huge number of immigrants coming from India every day. But with the immigration law being changed, the number of new immigrants coming will be much less 5 years down the line and Kottayam diocese will loose it's significance in USA. Since anybody can post anonymous comments here, you can shout at me and use any language. But guys think. think about your next generation. Are they better severed by your church? Are their faith in good hands? More than anything, I want my kids to grow knowing Jesus and living in faith. That will help them to live a good life and make them a good human being.
