KCCNA Convention Chicago: A search for the Truth
A series of emails have been flooding the inboxes of Knanaya community members from Chicago KCS and KCCNA on the overwhelming registration to the convention 2014. The recent announcement points to a historic registration which even surpassed the all time high registration of Dallas convention. Presumably over 850 families registered before the first deadline along with a large number of Grand and Mega Sponsors. This convention has to be a financial success!!
If the claim by the convention committee is true, we like to salute them for their achievement. However we have found from reliable resources that the truth of the matter is far from it. If 800 families registered for the convention and paid for their registration, KCCNA bank accounts should reflect a balance of about $800,000. However a review of the bank account shows a balance of less than $300,000.
This of course is a balance carried over from the previous KCCNA administration led by Dr. Shiens Akasala. The Nellamattam administration after a successful convention handed over about 200K to Shiens administration. This money was handed over to him with specific instructions from the then national council as how to utilize the funds for the benefit of the community members. However in less than two years Shiens managed to shrink that account to a Zero balance. The beneficiaries were attorneys he hired to bring endogamous churches in North America and attorneys that were hired to fight the North American Kna Blog. In the history of KCCNA administration, personal expenses incurred by the Presidents were never reimbursed by KCCNA. However Shiens made sure he collected all his travel expenses including his taxi fare. If you don’t believe us, talk to the current KCCNA EC .
We do not want the same misappropriate spending of KCCNA funds by office bearers. We suggest that the KCCNA accounts should be transparent to the community members and the office bearers should be accountable for their actions.
The most recent email from the KCCNA Gen secretary points to the next deadline of Feb 15th with an increase of $100 over the first registration fee. A registration is complete only when payment is made in full. We demand that every one who registers after the first deadline be extended the same privilege as those who registered before the first deadline and did not pay.
More revelations in the next episodes…..
